judicial separation
A separation of man and wife by decree of court, less complete than an absolute divorce. A "limited divorce" or a "divorce a mensa et thoro." Judicial system. Entire network of courts in a particular jurisdiction. The federal judicial system consists of the Supreme Court, Courts of Appeals, District Courts, and specialized courts such as the Court of Claims, Court of Customs and Patent Appeals, etc.
